Mathematics and design skills were used in a charity drive at Mentone Girls Grammar last week.
Years 5 and 8 students took part in the CANstruction competition where canned food is turned into 3D structures before it is donated to charity.
The students constructed the can creations on the theme of Olympic Engineering. Year 8 students based their design on the floating Olympic Village in the shape of the five Olympic rings, while the year 5 students based their design on the Olympic medals.
The cans will be donated to the Salvation Army after the competition.
