A WARM and friendly atmosphere was created in the footy clubrooms when a group of women organised the annual Daffodil Day.
Marjorie Shone, along with her friends and CWA ladies worked hard for the Daffodil Day. Ten people were involved and at least 12 women donated food.
The clubrooms were decorated with the daffodil banner, yellow tables cloths and lots of daffodils. “We were able to send $785 to the Cancer Council of WA,” Ms Shone said. “Thank you to my workers and those who donated food as well as all those who supported us.”
The women also thanked the football club for the use of its rooms.
The winner of the raffle was June Lloyd, who won her own shopping trolley. Second and third prizes went to Betty Humphries who won a tea cup set as well as daffodils in a pot and fourth prize was a cushion won by Ronnie Drazic.
Ms Shone is looking to pass on the responsibility of Daffodil Day fundraising and anyone interested should contact her on 9765 1615.
