South East Embroidery U12
Nanjing Night Net

The South East Embroidery under 12s made a nervous trip to Canberra’s Bruce Stadium on Saturday to play Queanbeyan in the grand final.

The boys made a great start to the game with Luke Day making a brilliant strong run.

Constant pressure and two good kicks into the in-goal from Lachlan Inskip gave the boys two repeat sets of six and Bill Zammit the chance to dive over the try line and score the first try.

Lachlan Inskip just missed the conversion hitting the uprights.

Dylan Elton, Jarrod Jeszczenko and Andrew Pearce all made fantastic tackles throughout the game. Queanbeyan scored next making the score four all.

Lachlan Jones was lucky to get the ball and dive over the try line from dummy-half with James Cahill converting the kick.

Jack Reid again showed his potential after taking on the opposition making many try saving tackles.

Cooper Swan made a big difference to the team with his skill. Bill Zammit again found the try line, but was unfortunate to miss his kick.

Lachlan Jones made a brilliant try saving tackle right on half-time leaving the score 14-4.

Lachlan Inskip came out running around the opposition to score his first try in the corner after the break with Thomas Hain converting.

Josh Dwyer-Gersak and James Hayden showed great defence throughout the game.

Good strong runs from James Cahill helped him score near the goal post and Lachlan Jones converting his kick.

Bill Zammit again found the try line with Remy Oldrey converting.

An amazing run from Remy Oldrey, after a great offload from Luke Day, saw Remy score the next try and Tim Bottom converted.

After a dummy and step from Lachlan Inskip, he ran 50 metres scored right on the full time hooter and Jarrod Jeszczenko converted leaving the boys the winners for the 2012 Grand Final with the score 42 points to 4.

The boys celebrated their great win, showing on the day great skills, great defence, great running and great sportsmanship.

Bill Zammit was awarded Man of the Match.

The boys would like to thank their sponsor South East Embroidery, coach Richard Inskip, manager Bec Inskip, first aid officers Rebecca Hain and Catherine Pearce and league safe Dale Bond, Nick Dwyer-Gersak and Pete Gersak.

Also a huge thank you to James Hayden and Remy Oldrey who played up from the under 11s.

They both had a great game.

Great year boys and we hope to see you all again next year.

Frank’s Butchery U13

The Frank’s Butchery under 13s played Canberra North Bears in the grand final on Sunday in an early match that had fog still hanging around Bruce Stadium.

The boys won the grand final in a very nail biting match winning 18 to 16.

All the boys stepped up and played a great game of football.

Each one of them should be proud of their efforts not only on grand final day but also throughout the season and especially the semi-finals.

Try scorers were Zac Saddler, Jake Hedger and Charlie Allen and Zac kicked three from three. Well done team. Thank you to all the parents and supporters on the day.

I am sure the boys could hear you all cheering.

Thank you to the Aussie Hotel who put on a luncheon for the boys on their return to Cooma.
