The money will support risk plans for Smiths Lake, Port Stephens and Nabiac, as well as a flood study for the Lower Myall and a flood emergency plan for Forster-Tuncurry.

NSW Environment Minister Robyn Parker said flooding caused an estimated $200 million worth of losses in NSW a year, as well as emotional stress, and added: “The NSW Government is pleased to support councils with funds and expertise to help them prepare and minimise the risk.”
