Fire twirlers to wrap up Child Side school term
CHILDSIDE students in Boyanup will hold a market and fire twirling display on Friday, September 28 to wind up term three.
The event will be part of a special Enterprise Evening, a tradition developed by students over the school’s 10-year history to help raise funds for excursions and a part of their investigations into planning, making and marketing various products.
Enterprise afternoons occur on the last Friday of each month from 3pm.These events offer the children many opportunities such as researching, marketing and hand producing merchandise to sell.
The produce on offer ranges from vegetables and lemonade to jewellery and art.In the preparation and running of these afternoons there is great opportunity for parents to support and work with their children.
On the day, there is a relaxed and fun environment and time to socialise with other parents, which helps strengthen the school’s community.
This month’s Enterprise Evening will start about an hour before it gets dark. This event is being organised and run by the year 7 children along with the high school-aged children who have graduated primary school and moved into the Family Learning Association, based on site at Child Side.
The evening will offer the opportunity to browse and buy the varied produce on offer before culminating in a spectacular and visually stunning fire twirling display. For more information visit www.childsideschool.wa.edu.au.
