DUBBO PCYC gymnasts have achieved some brilliant results over the past month highlighted by the performance of seven girls from the women’s program who were selected to represent the North West Region at the Regional championships.
Level 1 Junior gymnasts Isabella Stevens, Ella Stewart and Georgia Cudmore were in the team placed first in the state; while Olivia Onley was impressive ranking individually fourth in NSW in the Level 2 Senior division.
The club also had Lara Clarke from Level 3 intermediate in the team placed first on vault and Brigid Isbester and Eryn Beattie performed well in the Level 3 Junior division.
The boys in the men’s program travelled to Glendale with all three gymnasts qualifying to compete at Gymnastics NSW State titles in October.
Joel Barker received a silver medal in the Level 1 Age division; Josh Mann received a silver medal in the Level 3 Open division; Simon Ramirez won gold in the Level 3 Open division and placed fifth overall.
A recently new program at PCYC gymnastics is Team Gym, one where children participate in a team environment on three apparatuses – floor, mini tramp and tumbling.
The teams travelled to Sydney with the Junior team made up of Blake Harland, Ava Smith, Laura Egan, Sarah Bruce, Anna Newcombe, Caitlyn Hillsley and Ian Hillsley. They received gold medals for their performance and the senior team members Nicole White, Ingrid Miller, Blake Dixon, Megan Miller, Emily Beckenham and Clair Peacock won silver.
