THE Bulahdelah Historical Society has received $1500 worth of new equipment from the Holiday Coast Credit Union.
President of the society Kevin Carter said the funding went to a large scanner and copier.
“This allows us to capture and reproduce instantly, historical photographs and articles brought in by the community,” he said.
With many of these documents in old imperial sizes they were often difficult to capture completely.
“Now we can [capture them] which is a great additional service our society can provide,” Mr Carter said.
The funding also enabled the society to buy a large, double-sided display panel.
Mr Carter said the equipment would increase the society’s services, and its ability to preserve the community’s identity and heritage.
