NOT-FOR-PROFIT Bayside Toy Library hopes to boost membership numbers at its first open day next month.
The library does not receive council funding and operates entirely on membership fees and fund-raising drives.
President Kathryn Cooper said the library needed more members to improve the service.
She said it would like to expand and provide access to Family Life, a Sandringham-based community services centre that offers family counselling, mediation, and mental-health education.
Annual membership fees for the toy library are $70 for one child, and $100 for two or more children, plus a one-off $20 joining fee.
The free activity day will be held on Saturday, October 13, from 9.30am to 2pm at 212 Dendy Street, Brighton East.
