Lambs part of lessons
Preschooler Samantha Way, 4, feeding one of the lambs by Nathalie Craig.TEA Gardens Hawks Nest Pre School’s newest pupils, Boris and Buster, are of the woolly variety.
The lambs, who are half brothers, were orphaned and taken in by staff member Judy Clarke.
Every day the children bottle-feed the lambs, and Mrs Clarke said this helped them develop important skills.
“It helps develop the children’s caring side and gentleness, as well as learning to be patient and sharing turns,” she said.
The children have been keen to pamper the lambs and last week gave them a bubble bath.
“Sometimes the kids just sit and pat them or sing songs to them.”
