DONNYBROOK District High School year 6s and 7s experienced the challenges faced by people with disabilities first-hand when they held their own Paralympics at the Donnybrook Rec Centre.
Challenges included playing sports blindfolded, seated and without the use of legs.
Teacher Jeanette Hutchison said the students had been studying the Paralympics, disabilities, inclusions and exclusions.
“They’re having a fun day and realising the issues people with disabilities face day-to-day,” she said.
