KAREN Mion was Sunday’s winner of the Jamberoo Joggers’ four kilometre run in a time that was half a minute faster than her previous best time.
Amanda Koorey put in a big finish to snatch second place from the evergreen Tony Maloney. Colleen Behl and Randall Harris filled out the top five finishes.
For once, Rachel Dyer did not gain a bonus point but was deserving of commendation for simply competing after running in a half marathon earlier that day.
Rachel continues to lead the championship point score with a seven-point lead over Amanda Koorey and Colleen Behl is a further point back.
Thalia Koorey went one better than her mother and was first home in the run over two-and-a-half kilometres.
Next home was Ella Harris who narrowly beat Zeffani Koorey. Iain Schweitzer and Ruth Mawbey were the other place getters.
Ella Harris and Tahlia Koorey are locked together on the top of the short-course championship, seven points clear of Iain Schweitzer. Ashleigh Ellis and Talina Mion stood out among the one-lappers, finishing in that order and improving their best times by more than a minute.
Samuel Mawbey recorded a personal best time for third.
