Sentimental journey

IT really was a sentimental journey to the daffodils at Rydal for Orange resident Joan Horton.

Joan grew up in Rydal, went to the Rydal School and was confirmed in the historic Union Church in the village.

She later worked as a telephonist at the Lithgow Telephone Exchange until moving to Orange after her marriage in 1964.

“It has really been a nostalgic trip and I’ve enjoyed every minute,” she said.

Joan was particularly impressed with the transformation of her old school as the Rydal Mount Convention Centre and at the preservation work carried out at the Union Church. lm091712LArydal
